Oh Women!

"Scientists have known that on the whole, females of all ages tend to worry more and have more intense worries than males. Women also tend to perceive more risk in situations and grow more anxious than men."

"Women are more likely
than men to believe that past experiences accurately forecast the future, according to two new studies."

Shopping - shopping
While Thet is busy with our bride's maid gowns in divi, I am now looking for my dress shoes to wear. I almost forgot to buy a shoes. I only have 1 pair of shoes for formal wear and it's already eh 5 years old. I didn't get to wear it that often and it just went out of fashion. I need something nice and modern. Luckily, I saw these in eBay.

These only cost $14. Isn't it a steal? But I still have to wait for few days to see who really won the auction. I am crossing my fingers.

This shall be my next pet
My current pet is a shih-tzu dog named "Rockie". Actually its not mine, it's Thet's because I gave it to her during rough times in our relationship. But since I am here and (my) rockie's over in Thet's care, I am planning to get my own in the long run. After all, we are going to rent our own apartment before we get married, I decided to get something for myself. Apartments here are not as strict as the ones in US. But help me choose what pet I am going to have.

CHIUAHUA

BUDAPEST PIGEONS

AFRICAN LOVE BIRDS

GREEN IGUANA

PERUVIAN GUINEA PIG

SUGAR GLIDER

Today is the day
Today is the day... of lazy monday. The first day of work days. The second day of the week because sunday 's the first according to our calendar. And that's what the encyclopedia said. LAME :-/

Today is the day... when I finished all the paper works for my wedding. Yipee yap my heart said. Hooray to Manila, I am going back with no worries. I already got the freedom to get married from my parish church and the single status certificate from the county recorder's office.

Today is the day... that my favorite canteen, George's Cafe' made a spagetti with meat balls as their special menu for monday. That's my lunch today kulang na lang lobo, may birthday na.

Today is the day... when I realized that I need to fix all my grammars on this blog. Pasensya na, tao lang. Hindi ko kasi paborito ang english subject nung highschool ako eh.

Today is the day... when I thought about selling my laptop and switch to Mac Mini. Pero di ko pa sure. I need a budget and I need what I have right now for my trip to Philippines. I want to make sure that Thet has a computer before I get back here.

Today is the day... of my new haircut. Gwapo daw ako sabi ng ka-office mate ko. Eh Gagong gupit eh.

Today is the day... na wala akong magawa sa office kundi magbusy-busyhan.

Surprised Mother
It was yesterday when my Mom came back to visit Los Angeles from Philippines for the second time. But this time without my Dad, but with her's a bunch of people from different parts of Philippines who are owners of Caltex Gas station which I found out later that it was actually a Group Tour. Her ticket and tour packages are freebies from Caltex for winning as the 3rd highest diesel fuel seller in Luzon. May gas station po kami, pero di po kami mayaman.I sneaked out from the back of the crowd, who are also waiting for the arrival of their love ones. Then I took a picture of her with a big smile just right after she noticed me that I am infront of her already! My Mom and Dad has been granted with 10 years multiple visa! But my Dad need to stay home and look after the family businesses , so he did'nt go.

blurry :-(

Today is 911
Let's all remember all those innocent people who died in horrifying terrorist attack in New York and Washington. Today is September 11, 2007, 6Th anniversary of the shocking moment. Although I am not an American, but I can deeply feel the lost and grief of each families who lost their son, daughter, mother or father on that cowardly attack by a Terrorist.
The worst thing that could happen is something that we don't expect ahead of our day. Whether we will be safely be homed or not, let's all still be thankful to our Lord for letting us step into this beautiful world and taste the beautiful or sometimes hard life. May all the souls of those who died in 911 attacks will rest in peace.

How to live like a Cavitenio
Today, I was just browsing adpost.com cars for sale section and found out that they're also selling "owner type jeepneys". Then after seeing that, it made me smile because I know almost all Cavitenio households has one of this customized mini jeepney. It also brings back my college days when I still have my "owner". I was now thinking of getting one instead of buying a much expensive car.

I remember a funny article about "How to live like Pinoy". To live like a pinoy you'll gonna need to be a getto. A simple house made up of bamboo woods, sawali and coconut leaves (pawid)... Yan ang Bahay-Kubo . At ang bahay mo dapat nakatayo sa malaking lupain na taniman. In front of your "bahay-kubo" there should be a mini "sari-sari" store with smart and globe E-load. You'll gonna need also a Carabao for your rice fields and other tanims. On the other side of your house, is your garage for your toyota corolla.

Now, to be a Cavitenio you should know how to commute with a "baby-bus" instead of a jeepney.I remember Thet. The first time that she ride a baby bus, the driver have her a free fare for some reason. Anyway highway r,emember that riding on a"baby-bus" is much better than a jeepney because it is much more comfortable. But what does baby bus really look like? Obviously it is smaller than a regular-sized bus and knowing Cavitenio style, it has to be with lots of sticker sign at cute pa! Here it is:

Yung nasa harapang ng honda city, that's our "baby-bus".

And by the way, the Imus-style of jeepney has always been in-demand. As I've said before, almost all Cavitenio families have this type of vehicle.

And if you are from Cavite, you should know this "Tinapang-Salinas". It is actually smoked fish made in one of the famous city in Cavite - Rosario (salinas). You can buy this delicacy in any public super market outside or better if you can get it inside Cavite. This is one of our family business and my late Grandma is the one who used to managed it. But since she passed away, my Auntie Neneng is now the one who's doing it.

Do you know how sabong (cock fighting) works? If not, then you are not from Cavite. Both of my Lolos on my Mom side and Dad's are sabungeros. But I opted not to be like them because sabong is gambling and I hate gambling. I love my money, you know. lolz

Hmmm..cant think of anything more...

Kilala
Kahit di tayo magkaba-bata
Kilalang kilala kita
Kahit malabo ang aking mga mata
Sa malayo palang, kitang kita na kita

Saulado na kitang talaga
Bawat kilos mo at salita
Araw araw di nakakasawa
Saulado na kitang talaga

Isang tingin mo lang
Alam ko ng ibig sabihin
Ma-late ka man

WAMU nightmare
I'm having a problem with my debit master card since I paid out our honeymoon plane ticket to Boracay online with Cathay Pacific Airlines. The debit card that I am using right now is the only card that I use for fast food or buying something online. I don't use any credit card anymore because I am having a hard time managing monthly bills and I hate worrying about late fees. Anyway back to my story, so I went to a Drive-thru in McDonald near by my other job. That's when I found out for the first that my debit card's acting weird and declined my payment for my meal that I ordered. I don't have any cash on my wallet, so I told the lady to hold on to my order and I'll be right back to get some cash from a nearest ATM machine. Yes it works with ATM, I got the cash that I needed and got my meal.

After that, a second transaction was made from my other job and it also declined my payment. Then I realized that something's going on with my WAMU debit card and told my self "I probably need to call WAMU to ask what's happening with my card".
That was last night when I called WAMU customer care and I spoke with a lady from their call center in the Philippines. She said that she need to transfer my call to their "Debit Card Department". So I waited... ok... wait wait wait... after 10 minutes I am still waiting and listening to their boring background piano song. After 5 minutes more, no body's still picking up my call from their "Debit Card Department". So I hang up and made another call, so another different customer rep lady and I repeated my self telling her about the problem and she said she needs to transfer me to their "Debit Card Department". By the time she's still telling me the words of "Debit Card Department" I cut her and told her that nobody's answering on that department and told her that was my second attempt to get some help but still I cant get hold of anyone and get the help that I need because nobody's there. She said they're experiencing a high volume of calls that's why the waiting time is very long. But my god it's 12 midnight when I called them, dapat hindi ganun. I know that I am not the only customer who's still up during that time. But they should anticipate the limit of waiting time atleast by hiring more people to help out with high volume of calls... hayyyy... Since I have no choice but to be transferred so I decided to wait. This time I told to myself that I will hang-up the fucking phone if I am going to wait for another 20 minutes of my life to hear the same old boring piano music on the background... After 25 minutes, I gave up. And decided to call again the next day.

So here I am now, I just called the WAMU customer care and I spoke to a lady from their callcenter in the Philippines again. She said that there is something fraudeulent going on with my Debit Card transaction few days ago. At last! may idea na ako kung bakit ganun! So she told me that I needed to get transfered (again) to their "Fraud Department". I told to my self after hearing that, "My god let me out!". I waited for about 15 minutes and still nobody's answering. So I hanged-up.

Lesson I've learned: Don't be fooled by free checking.
What to do: Close my account and switch to a better company with a better customer care.

Wedding update
I am currently processing the legal papers that we need for our wedding on December 22, 2007. And I am scheduled to be in the Philppines by October 15. So it means I need extra feet to finish everything quick. I already have the divorced paper from my previous marriage. Now, the only thing that I am worried about is my request for "Freedom to Marry" from my parish church. I am not really worried as in "worried - worried" but Its bothering me because every little requirements to get that paper has already been submitted except for Thet's Certificate of Catholic Birth which I am still waiting for her to give it to me. I also went to County Recorders Office for request for "Single Status Certificate" and yep it was a success. Now the only thing that I need is the "Freedom to Marry Certificate" hayyyy... To all the couples from abroad who are getting married in the Philippines need these 2 requirements. And also if you have a previous marriage and wondering to get married again in catholic church, you need to go HERE to answer all your questions.

WiFi upgrade for PS3
Just want to let you know guys that the project was not a succesful one. I formatted the system, I upgraded the firmware also. But still the Wifi is not working. I'll try to open the system again and see what's really wrong about it. I probably missed something or I need other parts or maybe the WiFi that I Installed is'nt working at all. But for now the WiFi upgrade project will be put on hold. I need to find someone who's selling PS3 parts and it's a pain in the ass because nobody's selling any dismanted PS3 anywhere.
